Foster Brother Shuffle

From one of our foster families who can only be a temporary home for the overflow of foster kids in our region...

What it looks like at 6:40 am for 15 & 8 year old foster kids (brothers) who never had a dad, and whose mom is out (and outta state ). Off to the unknown again this morning, 5th time in 6 days, with all their belongings in a bag. In spite of that, the 15-yr old gives our 10-yr old a little gift.

If you are considering answering the call to foster, our city is at crisis-level for open beds and it’s going to get worst with DCF/Eckerd contract ending/extreme under-funding by the state in our counties.

Not enough foster home beds = kids going house to house or sleeping in not good places
