Love + Kindness

Foster mom C’s recently shared this God story with us.

“Today I picked up my oldest ‘E’ from an overnight church camp. A girl kept hugging her goodbye and hugging me over and over. She asked if she could call my daughter and I said, ‘Absolutely.’ As we left, I asked my daughter what her story was (my bells told me there was a story).

My daughter said her father was in jail and her mom didn’t love her. She said the girl acted out at first, but E remembered what I’ve told her and didn’t engage, just showed love and grace. Because the last thing she needed was someone else treating her meanly. She needed kindness.

E said she witnessed the girl calm down the more love and attention she received. This is why we foster and keep saying yes. So that our children can learn to be the light and share His love.”
