YOUNG ENOUGH TO FOSTER

We licensed Cynthia in October. Right before the Gala where we honored her service as a board member. Almost immediately she took in a young foster boy. Ironically, she decorated the room in pink with girly furniture. She felt so bad for him when he arrived. However, he said, "Don't change a thing, mom, this is the nicest bedroom I've ever had."

We're so grateful for Cynthia and all the years she has served on our board of directors. After the passing of her husband and retiring from leading a local nonprofit, she was looking for a way to continue to make a difference. Well, she's found her new calling and is proving that God can call someone to be a foster parent at any age.

FEBRUARY INFO SESSION

Our mission is to provide a Christian foster home for every child in crisis in west-central Florida. When you attend an info session, we help you understand what a foster parent's calling entails from physical/emotional and spiritual aspects.

We at A Door of Hope provide coaching and support through the entire licensing process. Find out more by attending an Info Session! There is no cost and no obligation—it is simply the first step in your journey to discover more about Christian foster care.

JOYFULLY ADOPTED

Seven years ago we began the journey of grieving the death of our plan and the hope of our son to have a (biological) brother.

But seven years ago…
He began a new thing.
A new thing in me. A new thing in us.

Let it be known, and this I will shout from the rooftops, the last seven years have indeed been fertile ground.

There has been a lot of birthing and one thousand miracles along the way to here.

This-was-not-my-plan. To the one who feels like they’ve been circling the wilderness parched and weary. To the one questioning if He sees you, hears you, or even cares.
Do not grow weary
Do not lose heart.
Hold onto Hope!
Because Hope is right here in the middle of your wait.

The wilderness has taught me things I would have never learned on the mountaintop. The wilderness holds a gift.

“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.” Hebrews 10:23

Friday 10.14.22 was seven years to the day that we were told, “it would be highly unlikely we would ever have any more children” and on Friday 10.14.22 God in His perfect sovereignty decided He would join our stories together and there would be a new Mayer in town.

“Dax” Mayer you are one big God wink little man.

Honored we get to love you.
