Ministry Update

Edition: July 2023

God Provides More Hope Through Your Support

Thank you for your faithful support! God is providing growth and fruit thanks to your participation in this ministry of hope for kids in crisis.

One example of this growth is this new picture of our expanding staff (29 out of 35+). A direct result of this team is the five new families who have joined us in the past month. Plus, six recent grads are on their way to becoming licensed foster homes.

Please read on to see how you can continue to get involved with advancing this ministry...

For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, he will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you.
— 2 Corinthians 9:10

This family of four is opening their home and hearts for one more child in need of the love of Jesus. As Jesus said, “I tell you the truth... “Whoever welcomes this little child in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. For it is the one who is least among you all who is the greatest.” Luke 9:48

More families like this are needed to love foster kids without a home. Explore foster care: adoorofhope.com/info-session

This new family just completed class and is ready to welcome a foster child between 6-10 years old. That's one more child who will know the love of Jesus! We're so grateful for another family joining the A Door of Hope family.

M&C are a young married couple who God has put it on their heart to become foster parents. We're so delighted that they are opening their hearts and home to one little one.

The As are ready for the adventure of fostering up to 3 kids ages 5-10. Not only that, but they are committed to providing hope and the love of Jesus to children in need of a home.

THE MOST INSPIRING NIGHT OF THE YEAR

A Door of Hope provides hope for kids in crisis by providing loving, Christian foster homes in west-central Florida

The A Night of Hope Gala presented by Calvary Church of Clearwater is Tampa Bay’s most exclusive gala of the year benefitting local foster children. The evening includes silent and live auctions, a three-course dinner, and a dynamic program featuring stories from our foster families!

The goal of the A Night of Hope Gala is to raise critical funds to help children that have been removed from their homes because of abuse, neglect, or abandonment. A Door of Hope recruits, trains, licenses, and supports Christian foster homes. The cost to license every new family is $4,500 and our goal is to license over 100 more homes this year!

It has always been extremely important to us to regularly support the work God is doing through A Door of Hope. Plus, we want to do our part to provide hope for kids in crisis through Christian foster homes.

By faithfully giving each month we believe we are following Jesus’ instructions to “store up treasures in heaven” from Matthew 6:20 in His Sermon on the Mount. A Door of Hope is part of His heavenly bank account. And we look forward to seeing what may become of this heavenly investment in terms of the eternally transformed lives of foster children and their biological parents.

Since our very first encounter with A Door of Hope through our church, we’ve felt like a true part of the family. Committing to a recurring donation has only strengthened that bond and allowed us to see God at work through this ministry.

We’ve now been a recurring donor for eight and a half years. Both of us know that every dollar is going directly to open more Christian foster homes to address the foster care crisis in west-central Florida. Since day one, our giving experience has been seamless, and we’re confident that every future gift will strengthen our trust and connection to A Door of Hope’s God-glorifying work.

Together we provide hope,
Mark and Sasha Rooney

P.S. Sasha and I encourage you to join us in storing up treasures in heaven by becoming a recurring donor today. To become a recurring "Provider of Hope" click here: adoorofhope.com/provide-hope

A huge THANKS to the Sisterhood For Good of Sarasota County for the $3,000 grant!!! Enough to place 3 foster kids for a year! Also, they have 250 members and gave away over $110K to 32 charities, primarily around foster care, at their annual grants ceremony on June 22.

Our amazing Hillsborough licensing and support team has the majority of our Christian foster homes at 116 out of 198. (from left to right) Abby Southwick, Hollins Carnes, Holly Seiler, Emily DeFillipo, Sarah Pardue, Madison Good, KaeLeigh Ausley, Gretchen Leeper, and Alisha Curtis
